Covid 19 Information

How Cardiff Libraries and Hubs are operating in response to coronavirus (COVID-19).

In line with government guidance, we are working hard to re-establish services making sure that staff and communities stay safe.

We’ll update this page and our Facebook and Twitter  pages as further changes are made.

Four hubs in the city will remain open on an appointment-only basis for urgent issues and for Click and Collect Library books from Monday, December 21.

  • Central Library Hub
  • The Powerhouse
  • St Mellons Hub
  • Ely and Caerau Hub

The remaining hubs and libraries will be closed during this time.

Access to core hubs is by appointment only, unless you need a Foodbank voucher or are picking up recycling bags or food waste bags.

To enquire about Advice and Library services, and to book an appointment please call 029 2087 1071.

All face to face activities that had been taking place at hubs, such as job clubs and digital support, will cease.

Click and collect library services will be paused during the fire-break. Library users can access a wide range of eBooks and Electronic Resources for free online.

Please do not visit a Library or Hub if:

  • you have had coronavirus symptoms in the past 7 days
  • a member of your household has had coronavirus symptoms in the past 14 days
  • you have been in contact with someone who’s had coronavirus symptoms in the past 14 days
