Library Services

Coronavirus Update – View changes to our services.

Most of our Hubs are also home to a library service. As a library member you can make the most of the range of electronic resources available and use our click and collect book service.

Book browsing service

Library members can book a 25 minute slot to visit their preferred hub or library and browse the books they would like to borrow.

To book a slot please contact the Library Line on 029 2087 1071 and select option 2.

Once you have booked a slot you must visit your chosen hub or library alone, unless accompanied by a child or carer. Children over 11 are able to pre-book an appointment to choose their books on their own.

All visitors will need to follow COVID-19 guidelines and observe social distancing measures.

Enhanced cleaning measures will be in place at the building to help keep staff and customers safe.

Electronic Resources

If you are a member of Cardiff Libraries you can borrow eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines 24 hours a day, and access a range of other electronic resources from home and within the Hubs and Libraries.

You can access:

  • eBooks
  • eAudiobooks
  • eMagazines
  • Comics
  • eReference Material

Click and Collect Library Service

Library users can order a selection of books to collect from one of our libraries or hubs.  You will need to make an appointment to collect books. We do offer a delivery option for residents who need it.

Quarantining and cleaning measures for returned books will be in place before they are reused to reduce the chances of spreading COVID-19.

You can pre-order titles either via Cardiff Libraries online catalogue or over the phone. You will be offered a selection of five books based on your interests and preferred genres.

The library phone line is 029 2087 1071. Please select option 2.

Staff will arrange an allocated time slot when you can collect the books from one of the available hubs.
